BI-LO CHARITIES GOES PINK WITH SHOPPERS TO
SUPPORT SUSAN G. KOMEN
Shoppers Can Join BI-LO in Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness and Research
GREENVILLE, S.C. (October 7, 2009) – With national Breast Cancer Awareness Month coming in just a couple of weeks, BI-LO Charities is inviting members of the community to join them in support for Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.
Shoppers can help support the Susan G. Komen cause to promote breast cancer awareness and research initiatives by donating one dollar at the checkout counter of any BI-LO store.
BI-LO is the only supermarket in the southeast that will be offering customers the opportunity to donate to Susan G. Komen using a scan card at the checkout counter. Shoppers will have a quick, easy way to donate to this bworthy cause just by adding an extra dollar to their grocery bill. This program runs through October 20 in all BI-LO stores, except stores in Upstate S.C. and Western N.C. which began the program later and will be offering the opportunity through November 3.
Along with the scan cards, BI-LO’s weekly ads will feature products from vendors that support Susan G. Komen so shoppers can save money on products found at BI-LO while continuing their support of breast cancer awareness and research.
“The Susan G. Komen organization has made a major contribution to the awareness and research dollars for the cure of breast cancer. BI-LO Charities has been a strong supporter of the Komen organization’s efforts for many years. We are delighted to offer this easy way to make a small contribution in memory of a loved one or in honor of a survivor. Together we can make a big difference for many women that have been affected by this horrible disease,” said Carol Browning, executive director with BI-LO Charities.
