BI-LO CHARITIES CONTRIBUTES MORE THAN $83,000 TO THE ANDERSON-AREA COMMUNITY
Funds Raised by the 26th Annual BI-LO Charity Classic Golf Tournament Will Support 19 Community Organizations
ANDERSON, S.C. (November 11, 2009)– Today BI-LO Charities donated more than $83,000 to Anderson-area organizations thanks to funds raised during the 26th annual BI-LO Charity Classic Golf Tournament, which took place last June.
Representatives from 19 Anderson-area charities came together today to receive more than $83,000 worth of grants from BI-LO Charities. Each organization accepting a check at today’s presentation has been chosen due to their ongoing work with children’s needs, education and hunger relief.
“The mission of BI-LO Charities is to support the advancement of children, education and hunger relief efforts in every community that BI-LO operates in. Because of this, we are honored to be able to provide grants for organizations that help address these needs at the local level. Each organization we provide funding for continues to make a substantial impact on members of their community, and we could not be happier to partner with them in this way. We are also very excited to offer members of the community the chance to play in the Charity Classic next June and join us in providing aid to local organizations,” said Executive Director of BI-LO Charities Carol Browning.
Organizations participating in the grant presentation each offer a necessary service to their community. Charities receiving grants from BI-LO Charities include:
