BI-LO CHARITIES CONTRIBUTES MORE THAN $130,000 TO
CHATTANOOGA-AREA COMMUNITY CHARITIES
Funds Raised by the 26th Annual BI-LO Charity Classic Golf Tournament Will Support 36 Local Organizations
CHATTANOOGA, TENN. (November 12, 2009) – Today BI-LO Charities donated more than $133,000 to Chattanooga-area organizations thanks to funds raised during the 26th annual BI-LO Charity Classic Golf Tournament, which took place last June.
Representatives from 36 local charities came together today to receive $133,759 worth of grants from BI-LO Charities. Each organization accepting a check at today’s presentation has been chosen due to their ongoing work with children’s needs, education and hunger relief.
“The mission of BI-LO Charities is to support the advancement of children, education and hunger relief efforts in every community that BI-LO operates in. Because of this, we are honored to be able to provide grants for organizations that help address these needs at the local level. Each organization we provide funding for continues to make a substantial impact on members of the community, and we could not be happier to partner with them in this way. We are also very excited to offer members of the community the chance to play in the Charity Classic next June and join us in providing aid to local organizations,” said Executive Director of BI-LO Charities Carol Browning.
