BI-LO CHARITIES INVITES MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY TO SUPPORT
LOCAL NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
Customers Can Contribute to BI-LO Charity Classic at Any BI-LO
GREENVILLE, S.C. (May 11, 2010) – The BI-LO Charity Classic, the nation’s largest one-day charity golf tournament, has raised more than $48 million since 1983 to support hundreds of organizations across Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee that focus on assisting with children’s needs, education and hunger relief. From May 3 through June 12, members of the community can join BI-LO in supporting local non-profits.
Customers can make donations to BI-LO Charities’ fundraising efforts by adding $1 or more to their grocery bill. Each BI-LO has identified a local charity to support with the funds raised so these donations stay in the local community and help our neighbors who are in need.
“Our store teams are passionate about getting involved in the communities where they work and live. This commitment to our neighbors in need has always been part of BI-LO’s culture,” said BI-LO Charities Executive Director Carol Browning.
Along with supporting local non-profits through in-store fundraisers, members of the community are also invited to participate in the BI-LO Charity Classic, which will take place in Greenville, S.C., June 6-7, 2010. Funds from player spots will be allocated back to non-profit organizations in the player’s local community. Individual player spots are priced at $850 and include 18 holes at a prestigious course as well as tickets for the player and a guest to the auction and pairing party and a post-tournament awards banquet. Additionally, this year marks the first time tickets can be purchased separately for the Auction and Pairings Party on Sunday, June 6.
To sign up for the BI-LO Charity Classic, or to purchase tickets to the Auction and Pairings Party, or for more information about the tournament and the non-profit organizations it supports, please call 864-286-5895 or visit www.bi-locharities.org.
