Greenville Drive General Manager Mike deMaine will join the players for golf and as the lunch time speaker, offer his thoughts on the core values of First Tee, such as integrity, sportsmanship and responsibility as they apply to golf, baseball and life.
“I look forward to the First Tee event every year because, not only is does it kick off the weekend of the Charity Classic, but it provides an opportunity to impact the lives of children in the Upstate,” said Dwayne Goodwin, a BI-LO Charity Classic board member who has played in the First Tee Invitational for several years. “Children’s organizations are one of the main focuses for grants awarded by the BI-LO Charity Classic and the First Tee does an amazing job of teaching young people valuable life skills through the game of golf.”
The First Tee Invitational will begin at 8:30 a.m. with registration and breakfast, followed by 30 minutes of warm-up and practice for the players. As they hit the links at 9:30 a.m., the flagpole on the greens of each nine holes will feature a flag displaying one of the nine core values of First Tee, including honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, judgment, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance and courtesy.
