BI-LO CHARITIES DONATES NEARLY $50,000 TO
NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN MYRTLE BEACH AREA
Funds from 27th Annual BI-LO Charity Classic Golf Tournament Provide Support for Nine Local Charities
CONWAY, S.C. (Nov. 18, 2010) – Today BI-LO Charities donated $49,722 to nine Myrtle Beach-area organizations addressing children’s needs, education and hunger relief in the local community. All funds donated came from the 27th Annual BI-LO Charity Classic held last June in Greenville, S.C.
Local charities receiving grants from BI-LO Charities include:
- Boys and Girls Club of the Grand Strand, Inc.
- Coastal S.C. Chapter of the American Red Cross
- Helping Hand of Myrtle Beach, Inc.
- North Strand Helping Hand
- Omar Clowns
- South Strand Lions Club for South Strand Assembly Food Bank
- Teach My People
- Vital Aging of Williamsburg County, Inc.
- Williamsburg Regional Boys to Men Clubs, Inc.
“The mission of BI-LO Charities is to support the children’s charities, education and hunger relief efforts in every community in which BI-LO operates,” said BI-LO Charities Executive Director Carol Browning. “Our goal is to provide funding for projects that provide meaningful and sustainable change in our communities, and we are honored to partner with organizations that help address critical needs at the local level.”
BI-LO Charity Classic funds were raised through silent and live auctions as well as sponsorships by local business and BI-LO’s generous vendor community.
