BI-LO CHARITIES DONATES NEARLY $35,000 TO NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
AROUND THE SOUTH CAROLINA LOWCOUNTRY AND SOUTHEAST GEORGIA
Funds from 27th Annual BI-LO Charity Classic Golf Tournament Provide Support for 14 Local Charities
WALTERBORO, S.C. – Today BI-LO Charities donated $34,254 to 14 non-profit organizations around the South Carolina Lowcountry and Southeast Georgia addressing children’s needs, education and hunger relief in the local community. All funds donated came from the 27th Annual BI-LO Charity Classic held last June in Greenville, S.C.
Local charities receiving grants from BI-LO Charities include:
- American Cancer Society Hampton County Relay for Life (Hampton, S.C.)
- Colleton County High School (Walterboro, S.C.)
- Food Bank, Inc. (Statesboro, Ga.)
- HELP of Beaufort (Beaufort, S.C.)
- Hilton Head Island Deep Well Project (Hilton Head Island, S.C.)
- Jenkins County Elementary School (Millen, Ga.)
- Jenkins County Family Enrichment Center, Inc. (Millen, Ga.)
- Kiwanis Club of Beaufort (Beaufort, S.C.)
- Paul Anderson Youth Home (Vidalia, Ga.)
- Screven County Community Collaborative (Sylvania, Ga.)
- The Samaritan House of Orangeburg (Orangeburg, S.C.)
- Toombs County United Charities (Vidalia, Ga.)
- Volunteers in Medicine Clinic (Hilton Head Island, S.C.)
- Wimberly House Ministries, Inc. (Waynesboro, Ga.)
“The mission of BI-LO Charities is to support the children’s charities, education and hunger relief efforts in every community in which BI-LO operates,” said BI-LO Charities Executive Director Carol Browning. “Our goal is to provide funding for projects that provide meaningful and sustainable change in our communities, and we are honored to partner with organizations that help address critical needs at the local level.”
BI-LO Charity Classic funds were raised through silent and live auctions as well as sponsorships by local business and BI-LO’s generous vendor community.
